Fees for Professional Services

A typical investigation of an incident with the requirement of a report in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules would normally attract a fee between £800 and £2,500. This obviously is dependant on the extent and complexity of a case and is based on my experience of investigating such matters. This fee would not include charges associated with Court appearances and additional advice beyond the exchange of expert's reports.

An estimate of a detailed investigation may be provided following an overview. Where a successful judgement is achieved the charges for professional expertise are generally recoverable. Where a joint expert is agreed the charges are generally divided equally between each party.

I am able to negotiate a competitive budget for the provision of advice to the extent of a preliminary report.

ncidents requiring investigation, involving the following the activities are charged at an hourly rate which is broken down into six minute increments:-

• Forensic investigation
• Technical assessment
• Financial appraisal
• Negotiation with a third party
• Correspondence
• Site investigation
• Meetings
• Reports
• Travelling

Legal issues requiring expert advice, involving the following activities are similarly charged at competitive hourly rates:-

• Act as a single or single joint expert as directed by the Court.
• Appraisal of evidence.
• Provision of an Expert Report in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Conference with Counsel.
• Court Appearance.
• Travelling.
• Should a requirement for a Court appearance be withdrawn a cancellation fee may be charged, if other instructions relating to that period are unavoidably declined.
