I can adopt a flexible charging regime to suit Clients based on fixed fees, sliding scale fees or hourly rates dependant on the value of a Claim.

Long term Clients are provided with bespoke facilities according to the Client’s protocol.

The following outline is for guidance purposes only:-

 
1). Claims up to £5,000

Normally a charge of £250 will be made for Claims in this category The service provided will include the following activities:-

• A desk top technical assessment of the documentary evidence and a financial appraisal.
• Request to the Claimant for further disclosure where required.
• Initial negotiation with a third party where necessary.
• Advice to Client in the form of a report on the sum considered appropriate for settlement of the Claim.

 

2). Claims over £10,000 and less than £50,000

Charges for investigation of an incident of this nature are based on the time spent calculated in six minute units in any part of one hour at a unit rate of £12.50

A cost estimate may be agreed by discussion with the Client.

This service includes the following activities:-

• Forensic investigation.
• Technical assessment.
• Financial appraisal.
• Negotiation with a third party.
• Correspondence.
• Site investigation.
• Meetings.
• Provision of a report in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Travelling.

This fee would not include charges associated with Court appearances and additional advice beyond the exchange of expert’s reports.

 
3). Claims in excess of £50,000

High value claims in excess of £50,000 are initially reviewed with a view to providing a cost estimate after considering the evidence and will include a breakdown of the anticipated investigation involved.

A fee of £250 will be charged for the initial cost estimate and is subject to negotiation for a regular Client .

 
4). Claims where Litigated has commenced

Legal issues requiring expert advice, involving the following activities are charged as in 3) :-

• Act as a single or single joint expert as directed by the Court.
• Appraisal of evidence.
• Provision of an Expert Report in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Conference with Counsel.
• Court Appearance.
• Travelling .
• Should a requirement for a Court appearance be withdrawn a cancellation fee may be charged, if other instructions relating to that period are unavoidably declined.
